As New York Fashion Week draws to a close, and we reminisce about the most spectacular runway shows, the streets of New York City are still bustling with some of the most fashionable people in the world and along with them, comes some of the freshest trends for fall. I always pay close attention during Fashion Week to my favorite influencers (see my article on my favorite influencers here) as well as my favorite fashion publications like WGSN, Vogue, and WhoWhatWear. Even though street style is an art, and every one is an individual, I find that a common theme usually runs through their looks during Fahsion Week.
I compiled some of my favorite street style trends from Fashion Week into one look, and I also shot this look in the most “New York” looking street in Los Angeles to try to obtain the right vibe (and also pretend like I went to Fashion Week). My favorite piece in this whole look has to be this vintage silk bomber, I found this thrifting a few months back and fell in LOVE with the embroidery on the back. This was also one of the trends I noticed at Fashion Week was colorful, and bold embroidery. Another trend that I wanted to include was elongated ankle boots. These are the tallest ankle boots I have but I wanted them to seem like there were a few inches taller, so I created a bit of an illusion with some dark grey crew socks so that they appeared taller. The last trend I incorporated into this look was the lacy silk camisole. I think the lace adds the perfect amount of detail to this look. I will definitely be rocking this camisole all through the fall and winter months over a sweater (comment if you want more posts on how I like to style this look!)
All in all, I hope you guys enjoyed Fashion Week as much as I did even though I didn’t get to attend. Maybe someday!
